The Intent
What it set out to prove
The opposite question to Linen. Here we pushed the ground as dark and dense as it would go, to find the point where gold stops being a colour and becomes the only source of light in the frame.
The Approach
How it was built
Deep green velvet and a worn matchbox, lit by a single warm source at 2700K with hard falloff. Nothing bounces back. The piece is small in frame and slightly off-centre so the eye has to travel to it – the darkness does the work that a headline usually would.
